Panel

See the new night panel!

The panel covers a huge area of 1.680 x 1.884 pixel. The yellow frame above and the picture below shows the default section, provided XP is set to 1.344 x 840. Scrolling right/left and up/down shows the other sections. Although this is the optimal configuration for this panel, you can use it with any resoltion X-Plane® does support.

Obviousely this picture gives you the impression of sitting in the captain's seat, while using the entire resolution looks as if you were standing in the cockpit door, and it also would scale down the size of the instruments.

The Taxi Aid Camera is a useful option in the A340-500, in the 600 it is standard. In XP10 you can display it selectively on both PDFs and the SD.

Now all 3 camera selector switches are active.

Nevertheless, some pilots leave it on the SD during flight, as shown on the real foto below.

Many of the OH-panel's buttons and switches do work, thanks to extensive usage of the new generic instruments.

The new fuel page displays the quantity of each tank (8 in the A346, 9 in the A345) and the Total Fuel on Board.

In the lower section True Air Temperature (TAT), Static Air temperature (SAT) and ∂ ISA (Deviation from Standard Atmospere Tempreture) are correctly displayed, as well as Grossweight and Grossweigt Center of Gravity. A G-meter indication appears in amber at G ≥ +1,4 and ≤ +07, so you'll get an idea wether your passengers are having a comfortable flight or a rodeo.

On a dry and clean runway the auto brake should achieve the following decceleration values:

  • Pos. 1 ≥ 0.18G
  • Pos. 2 ≥ 0.22G
  • Pos. 3 ≥ 0.38G
  • MAX and RTO ≥ 0.44G
The auto brake system indicates by ACTIV in blue, that the system is working (not armed). The green DECEL light indicates that at least 80% of the preselected decceleration value is achieved, no matter what causes the decceleration. So if only ACTIV is lit, the auto brakes work, but with insufficient efficiency. So if only DECEL is lit, the auto brakes do not work, but sufficient deceleration is caused by other means (e.g. thrust reverse, manual braking).

The OH-panel comes with a complex Engine Fire Protection system.

Air Bleed and Air Condition (Pack 1 / Pack 2) are modelled in detail, as are many other systems.

Indication of Slat & Flap Position.

Indication of wheel brake pressure.

The autopilot incorporates the latest XP 8.60 features I requested from Austin. It demands for a brief study of the manual.

In case the hydraulic system of the landing gear should fail, don't panic! You may extend it by gravity.
